1) Sudden Injury! Seek immediate treatment or advice from nearest suitable practitioner <24hrs This is only appropriate if the injury is ACUTE (of sudden onset) – otherwise follow Step 2.
2) Gradual / Ongoing Injury Go to Step 3 ASAP  
3) Contact Institute  (Area Manager or Administrator) Provide the Institute with details of Service Provider Used / Nature of Injury / Likely Number of Treatments Required <48hrs The initial treatment only will be paid for, without the approval of the Highland Institute of Sport provided Step 1. has been followed.
4) Approval to Continue Treatment The Institute will provide authority to continue receiving treatments covered by Institute funds. As 3. Without this approval the Institute will not guarantee paying for treatment received.
5) Continue Treatment Following approval for continuing treatment, arrange appointment with an ‘approved’ local provider listed in the providers directory. 2 wks A maximum of six treatment sessions can be attended without additional approval from the Institute
6) Completion of 6th session or course of treatment – whichever is soonest Contact Highland Institute of Sport Area Manager / Administrator
ASAP Institute will advise whether specialist advice or input is required if injury has not fully resolved. This will be arranged if necessary.
7) Full Return to Sport Submit ‘Feedback Form’ to Institute Administrator 1 wk The Institute will send ‘Feedback Form’ after step 3. has been taken.
