Athlete

Profile

Name: Mo Simpson

Sport: Wheelchair Curling

I have always had an avid interest in sport even from my school days when I tried various sports ranging from hockey and rifle shooting to volleyball and ladies football. Now in a wheelchair my enthusiasm has not wavered, and I have enjoyed successes in wheelchair racing and wheelchair dancing at Regional, Scottish and National level.
Like other curlers, we all have our individual and team goals. My individual goal is, to do the best I can at all times, while working within the team environment and work up goal by goal to the team’s ultimate goal – a Paralympic Gold Medal.
In 2007 I won the National Wheelchair Pairs with my partner and Team Highland took 3rd place in the British Wheelchair Open.
I have been part of the Scottish Wheelchair Performance Squad for four years and have represented Scotland twice at the Kinross Wheelchair International.
