Profile

Name: Kris Hamilton

Sport: Rugby

Hi my name is Kris Hamilton I live in Caithness and work at Dounreay where I am an apprentice Instrument mechanic, just going into my 3rd year.
I have played rugby for a LONG time roughly being 11 years! I played for my high school WHS at under 15/16 and 18 where I captained and vice captained. Throughout I played at regional level for the Highlanders district team at under 15 and 16 captaining the team at both levels.
Thereafter I got my first senior rugby break at 16 years old playing for Caithness 1st XV, my first game was in pre-season against Orkney where I scored a try playing on the wing. I have been playing with Caithness for 3 years now and enjoying every second. We are currently are in National league division 2 and I am regulary starting for the club at Scrum half having been voted young player of the year in 2006/07 and player of the year 2008/09, this coming season we are looking for promotion (or that's my view on things). I have also played for Caledonia reds at under 17 and 18, at under 18 level we won the inter-district championship defeating Edinburgh in the final. I was then involved with the Scotland under 18 development squad but sadly never made the final cut. However I bounced back the next year and got myself into the Scotland under 19 squad where we played Italy (Lasswade,Edinburgh) and France (Dourdan,France)scoring a try against Italy in the process.
Well that's all I can say about myself, this year is very exiting for me as I have just been inducted into the Scottish rugby/ Highland institute of sport academy and with the training and support from the highland institute I am looking to pull on more national jerseys in the future.
